D Loops

A D loop is a string that is tied to a compound bow string in a U shape. It is called a D loop simply because it looks like a ‘D’ on the bow string! D loops are used on compound bow strings to attach the release aid to so that it doesn’t interfere with the string. The pressure put on the bow string by the release aid is spread over a greater distance when a D loop is used than if the release aid attached directly to the string.
